What really matters

I did an audit of the blog, visual and content-wise. And I realized that I'm not satisfied with it. (Nobody ever is, right?)

I've always wanted my blog to be simple. Bare, focused on words. I intended it to be a home to my thoughts, observations and writing.

But now I can't resist the urge to tinker with it. Part of me wants it to be a playground, where I change every detail now and then. I view it as a sort of journal, where I share highlights from my otherwise uneventful life.

But there's always something to tweak, for aesthetics or functionality. There’s content I'm not even sure anymore if I really care about. It's starting to feel forced, becoming more of a just-for-the-sake-of-it project. It is still 'personal' but I guess I put too much effort emulating what I see in other's blogs.

Now I'm pondering on going back to ‘bear’ essentials. Simple design, limited add-ons, more crappy (and not-so-crappy) posts.

Back to a simple, personal blog that stays true to its essence. My corner of the web that's home to what really matters to me.
