day 5
Woke up a bit late for my morning run. My mind wanted more sleep, but my body decided against it. Good thing I already prepared my gear the night before.
So I head out, wanting to catch some new year sunshine. First run this year.
I proceeded slowly. Podcasters in my ear, yet I wasn’t absorbing anything. My feet were running while my mind was wandering.
Went somewhere full of runners and cyclists. It’s that time of year. NY resolution: be healthier/exercise more.
Minded my own business basking in the morning sun. Let my legs and body find their own pace and place in the sea of people.
I was thinking of what to write.
Saw some familiar faces. One was a 73-year old runner who I met two years ago, a stronger and faster runner than me. I see him often whenever I go running. I admire him for being consistent.
He lives nearby so we went home together. He said that I should train for a marathon, something that’s not high on my list right now. I said I haven’t even done a half-marathon. Go do it then, he said.
My run was quick, short of 7km. But exercise is exercise.
I didn’t come up with any deep ideas but eh, there’s always a next time. Isn’t there?
