Being young

So there I was, sitting with the crowd. My friends and I were donning the color red, the color of our alma mater. My throat hurt from cheering, I think I nearly lost my voice. The game was over. We sat in silence as we stared at the final score.

It’s been over a decade since I graduated from the university. And I just realized this was one of the things I miss about my college days.

While I don’t particularly enjoy crowds, I like the atmosphere during live games. The overall energy within the building was contagious.

You just couldn’t help but cheer for your school at the top of your lungs. The cheer from the community felt like music to my ears. It showed unity and enthusiasm.

The students were screaming, clapping, and jumping. A guy was dancing wildly on his own when our team took the lead. I wonder where he went when the other team was winning though.

There was a group of students waiting for their chance to have a photo with a famous former player of the team. Oh kids! So full of vigor, so lively. So much hope for and expectations from the world.

I remember when I was their age. It made me miss being young.

Anyway, we did the same and had our pictures taken with the famous guy.

I’m glad I was dragged to watch the game. Next time I get invited, I’ll 100% clear my schedule and go without hesitation..
